Over 80 of the Valley’s most inspirational women gathered at the Red Hall Hotel, Bury, for the Rossendale Woman of the Year awards 2014.
The event celebrated the achievements of Rossendale’s most outstanding women and helped to raise money for Rossendale Hospice. Louise Cooper was honoured with the top award for her work in helping to set up ‘Kids in Rossendale’, a new charity that endeavours to support disadvantaged children in the area.
Louise, who has been involved in scouting for over 25 years, is also a group scout leader for 38th Rossendale. She organises the fundraising so the cubs can travel to France to experience an activity holiday they may not ordinarily afford.
