An historic year for Yorkshire tourism was capped off at the country’s biggest tourism awards as 16 winners were named best in the business. Almost 1,000 people attended the festival-themed White Rose Awards night at the Pavilions, Harrogate. The awards, run by Welcome to Yorkshire, have been recognising tourism stars for more than 25 years.

Chief executive Gary Verity said: ‘Our county’s profile has never been higher.

‘Winning a White Rose Award is a prestigious seal of approval which helps show customers the high standards displayed every day. Our judging panel is completely independent, so to win one means a business has truly gone above and beyond.’
