MORE than 150 ladies attended the annual Rossendale Hospice ladies’ Christmas luncheon. Held at Nino’s in Rawtenstall, the event was compered by Key 103 DJ, Mike Toolan, and guests were entertained by saxophonist ‘Dan on Sax’ and treated to goody bags with products donated by Forever Living, Bows Boutique and Tropic.

An auction, which included prizes such as a Valentine’s weekend in the Lake District with a BMW convertible, raised £13,600 for the hospice.

Sam Morris, community fundraising manager, said: ‘The event was a tremendous success and I’d like to thank everyone who supported it especially the special events committee. The money raised will help fund the many services the hospice provides including Hospice at Home, where nurses care for people at the end stages of their life in their own home, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.’
