Cheshire’s most stylish garden party, Boodles Tennis, returned once again to The Mere.

Glasses of Nyetimber and Aspall flowed as over 1,000 guests enjoyed a sunny day courtside at the annual Boodles Tennis at The Mere Golf Resort and Spa, Knutsford.

Guests were treated to summery cuisine inspired by local ingredients, courtesy of the hotel’s executive chef, Kevin Clark. Visitors perused high fashion pieces in the Harvey Nichols pop-up shop and admired gleaming Rolls Royce cars.

Tennis legends Goran Ivanisevic, Henri Leconte, Mikael Pernfors, Xavier Malisse and Thomas Enqvist took to the court to provide entertaining competitive singles and exhibition doubles matches. Guests also had the opportunity to try and beat Xavier in the Myerson’s ‘fastest serve’ competition.

The occasion raised over £7,000 for St. Ann’s Hospice and the Trafford Deaf Children’s Society. Prizes won included business class flights to a holiday in the Maldives, courtesy of sponsors Etihad Airways and Elegant Resorts, and a beautiful necklace donated by Boodles. w
