An arresting night
Two local charities have each received £6,000 thanks to funds raised at the annual Cheshire Police Federation dinner dance at Carden Park hotel, near Chester. The event, co-hosted by the chairman of Cheshire Police Federation, Simon Roberts, and the Chief Constable of Cheshire Police, Simon Byrne, saw guests at the Spanish themed evening raise money for Cheshire Autism Practical Support and Miles of Smiles, Chester. Special guests for the night were paralympian Jack Hunter-Spivey, who represented Team GB at wheelchair table tennis in Rio, and Cheshire’s ‘brave officer,’ Ian Blanchard and his wife, Kate. Entertainment was provided by a rumba flamenco guitar band, Andalus, flamenco dancers and the Nat Augustin Band which featured the Simple Minds drummer, Mel Gaynor.
