Ladies gathered in Bowdon to support a children’s charity

This year’s annual Bowdon RUFC ladies’ lunch raised over £10,000 for Once Upon a Smile, a children’s bereavement charity. The event at the rugby club was attended by over 250 guests and hosted by the charity’s co-founder and actor, Dan Jillings. It was sponsored by Preferred Spaces and McGoff Construction. The Manchester-based charity provides emotional and practical support to bereaved families at their time of need. Assistance is tailored to meet the individual needs of each family and includes bereavement support groups, financial support and respite breaks.

Guests enjoyed a performance from Cheshire-based tenor Martin Toal, followed by singer Angie Brown, boy band The Stand Ins and a DJ set from Tom Finkill. Co-founder of the charity, Emmerdale’s Danny Miller sent a video link, as did Rowetta from the Happy Mondays.
