Almost £27,000 was raised for charity at a clay shooting event held for the final time on a Royal estate in Lancashire.
The Abbeystead Shoot, organised by Lancaster-based Ben Samuelson, is held on the Duke of Westminster’s estate. It attracted teams of four from across the country, each competing competed to win four Elliot Brown watches.
After 11 years and hundreds of thousands of pounds raised for charity, the final event produced a magnificent sum for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity as well as Abbeystead’s primary school and church.
After a champagne reception to the sound of an Army band and a four course lunch, the 150 guests heard an inspiring speech by Lance Corporal Mark Harding, who turned to The Soldiers’ Charity following a life-changing injury while serving in Afghanistan.
