The event was held at the RBL’s Ypres Lodge.

The annual Eve of Remembrance dinner organised by Royal British Legion Mickleover branch and 162 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps – the Task Force Lead appointed by the MoD in the event of any natural disasters in Derbyshire – was held at the RBL’s Ypres Lodge.

It was attended by Vice Lord-Lieutenant Col John Wilson OBE, Honorary French Consul Jean Claude Lafontaine, Mayor of Derby Cllr Mike Carr, and officers and supporters of the RBL. Army, Sea and Air Cadets had volunteered to wait on for the evening, which included Remembrance-themed speeches and music from the Silver Sax Band. Organiser Major Bruce Spencer said: ‘The Commemoration and Remembrance of 100 years since the end of the First World war is important. The Derby annual Eve of Remembrance dinner is a solemn moment when the Royal British Legion and 162 Regiment come together to mark the moment.’
