Groups dedicated to helping young people become the sports stars of the future benefited from the annual dinner organised by the Richard J. Wilson Sports Foundation.

The event was held at the Woodlands Suite of the Ribby Leisure Village in memory Richard, who died aged 19.

Richard was promising all-round sportsman, who captained Kirkham Grammar School at rugby union and was also a regular for Fylde 2nd VX with high hopes of making the first team.

His family and friends set up the foundation to provide funds for those young people who need a little help to fulfil their sporting potential. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner and a glamorous evening raising funds.
