Annual homage to fromage in Cheshire

A cheese made by a Reaseheath College student and Joseph Heler's Cheshire Cheese were some of the local winners at this year's International Cheese and Dairy Awards at Dorfold Hall, Nantwich.

The event, a highlight of the food and drink industry's calendar, attracts cheese makers from across the country and internationally. The top prize went to Wyfe of Bath, made by the Bath Soft Cheese Company, which was awarded the Supreme Champion title.

Saturday Kitchen star James Martin shared some of his culinary flair with visitors to the event as well as doing a book signing. It was a welcome success after the Nantwich Show, which takes place alongside the cheese awards, was cancelled at the eleventh hour after heavy rainfall made the showground unusable.
