So what can people expect to see at this year’s show? The varied programme incorporates everything from competition classes for cattle, sheep, pigs and dairy goats, to spectacular entertainment in the main ring – which this year is sponsored by Knutsford business, Delamere Dairy.

Here’s our picks of some of the exciting things to look out for across the two days:

1. Main ring entertainment

Among other exciting things yet to be announced, spectators can marvel at eagle and vulture displays and performances from the Scots Guard Association Pipe Band in the Delamere Dairy main ring. Make sure you stick around for the grand parade of champions which celebrates those lucky red rosette winners.

2. Equestrian excitement

Cheshire is a county that has horses at its heart. There are hundreds of classes for light and heavy horses, as well as thrilling show jumping and the Pony Club mounted games, meaning the biggest equestrian fans won’t be left disappointed.

3. Meet the young farmers

Members from Cheshire Young Farmer clubs from around the county will all come together at the Royal Cheshire County Show for their annual float competition, where visitors can enjoy the fantastic creations that each branch have come up with – before the traditional water fight between rival clubs.

4. Foodie delights

You certainly won’t go hungry while on the Tabley showground, thanks to the tasty food and drink offering from various exhibitors in and around the Roberts Bakery Food Halls and Food Live theatre. Local and celebrity chefs, including Christophe Novelli and Luis Troyano, will also be there across the two days to showcase their culinary skills.
