The Axe Vale Festival has raised more than £300,000 for local community projects

Great British Life:

The friendly Axe Vale Festival is probably one of the best gardening and craft shows in the South West. Now in its 19th year, it continues to be organised and run by teams of dedicated volunteers, and over this time has successfully raised in excess of £300,000 for local community projects.

Great British Life:

The original flower festival has developed over the years and now includes marquees for food, crafts, toys and hobbies, art, antiques and collectables, and Axe Vale Community, showcasing local businesses. Shopping malls, demonstrators, arena events, including live music complete the many attractions.

The Axe Vale Festival is a great day out for all the family, with many activities and entertainment for children and adults.

As always, the Floral Marquee will host stands with stunning displays, ranging from orchids to carnivorous plants, chrysanthemums to Japanese maples, displays of clematis and other climbers, all designed by award-winning exhibitors. Plants, seeds and garden tools can be purchased throughout the show, and as the Festival draws to a close on Sunday afternoon, there may well be an opportunity to pick up some real bargains!

The Craft Marquee showcases over 8,000 square metres of handmade, locally crafted items; from silver jewellery to fused glass, from turned wooden bowls to wildlife photography, with art, bags, knitwear and beauty products. With over 60 stands, including live demonstrations, there is guaranteed to be something to inspire and entice everyone, including gift buyers – so why not treat yourself?

Feeling hungry? Then head for the Food Hall where you will find an excellent range of locally sourced pies, pasties, sausages, cheeses, puddings, yoghurts, fudge, chutneys, and homemade bread and cakes. The toys and hobbies marquee is full of fabulous collections; from model boats to milk bottles and lots in-between, including a colourful hand-made Fairground.

Enjoy visiting the Antiques and collectable marquee (which includes vintage retro).

Visit the Annual Show of the Axminster and District Horticultural Society with its large number of classes and the exhibition and sale of the local Art Society.

And check out the Shopping Malls which feature a wonderful range of clothes and jewellery, and plenty of ideas for your home and garden.
