Anne Tuner shows us around her uniquely designed kitchen by Bower Willis Designs of Shipston on Stour
Anne Turner is joint founder of the National Herb Centre and an accomplished cook. So when she decided to completely redesign her kitchen, she knew exactly what she wanted. With such a large space, one of Anne’s biggest wishes was that she could access all the important elements of her kitchen in the fewest number of steps.
“I wanted a kitchen which meant I didn’t have to run around to do a small job. I wanted everything to hand. And that’s exactly what I got.”
Angela of Bower Willis Designs created a spectacular dresser which included a perfectly designed butler’s pantry with pull-out drawers for all of Anne’s wonderful cooking ingredients.
“I open up my cupboards and feel like an alchemist!”
Anne’s beautiful kitchen also includes refrigerated drawers, an island unit with induction hob, waste disposal unit and a prep unit with a boiling water tap. All of the units were custom built at a lower height as one of Anne’s niggles was achy shoulders when carrying out simple tasks like whisking. Bower Willis Designs even made a bespoke bread bin to match Anne’s butler’s pantry.
Bespoke door handles, hidden plugs and an intricately designed floor. It was all of this attention to detail which made Anne’s decision to choose Bower Willis Designs an easy one.

“At out initial meeting I was impressed by the questions I was asked. It was obvious to me that Angela wanted to get to know me and learn about my lifestyle before attempting to design the kitchen. From the type of cook I was to the type of art I loved most (Art Deco). And of course the more practical questions - was I left or right handed? It’s this attention to detail which gave me confidence in the team. And all of the Bower Willis team showed the same passion and commitment – the fitter, the electrician and the floorer.”
There’s no doubt that this kitchen is stunning – in Art Deco influences with Silestone worktops and wonderful natural light. But what makes this kitchen so special is that its Anne’s kitchen - designed completely for her and to suit her particular dreams and wishes.
“I come down every morning to look at my kitchen and still get goose pimples. This is my dream kitchen, so perfect for me. I couldn’t be more pleased.”
