A ball held in memory of a young man who died suddenly two weeks before his 24th birthday was held at Owen House Barn, Mobberley.
Aaron Dixon’s tragic untimely death was caused by ARVC, an undetected heart defect. Since then his family has set up a memorial fund to raise awareness and hold screening days within the Cheshire area. The ball was attended by over 140 guests and raised almost £10,500. With proceeds from this event, the family has now raised in excess of £60,000. In conjunction with Cardiac Risk In The Young, four screening events at The Grange School, Hartford, have now been arranged.
Deborah Dixon, Aaron’s mother, said: ‘The evening, for me, was an extremely emotional night but also enjoyable in that all Aaron’s close friends attended with their partners and families. Aaron’s friends have been a huge support to myself, Gary and Hollie since we lost him. The evening was a huge success and everyone said how much they enjoyed it and if I would be making this an annual event.’
