Accrington Golf Club members staged a glittering celebration to mark their 125th anniversary which has also seen members involved in a local project

As part an initiative to improve facilities and engage with the local community, they partnered West End Primary School to create a new window for the pro shop.

They asked all the pupils to come up with artwork celebrating the club’s anniversary and the achievements of famous Victorian course designer James Braid.

The first prize went to 11-year-old Toby Gargan who received a junior t-shirt and membership to the club. On the back of this initiative, the school wants the club’s head professional, Jonathan Pollard, to give golf lessons to their students.
