A special birthday party was held in memory of Andrew Jump who died last year after suffering a brain tumour.

It was staged at Leyland Golf Club on what would have been his 40th birthday and raised £5,600 for The Brain Tumour Charity.

Andrew’s wife Sarah said: ‘Andrew collapsed two days before Christmas was diagnosed with a brain tumour. He had surgery and three months of chemotherapy but he died at St Catherine’s Hospice.’

The mum-of-three from Buckshaw Village added: ‘We wanted to celebrate his birthday and raise some money for research. It was good night, there were 100 people there and it was lovely to see the boys all dressed up. It was a way of giving them some closure, doing something for dad and giving something back.’
