Fine weather, a friendly atmosphere and great entertainment were hallmarks of the 123rd Ashbourne Show

Thousands of visitors descended on the picturesque Osmaston Park showground where the traditional equestrian and livestock sections were as popular and well represented as ever. Organisers, the Ashbourne Shire Horse Society, produced a smooth-running event with dare-devil performances by Moto Stunts International in the Main Ring and a breath-taking flypast by a Hawker Hurricane from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

Among the results, winner of the Supreme Champion Shire Horse of Show was LM Fountain’s ‘Woodhouse Calender Girl’, and the Spillers Dairy Points Cup for the exhibitor gaining the highest number of points in the dairy classes went to Coldeaton Jerseys. As always the showground was packed with interesting marquees of crafts and produce as well as an impressive range of trade stands.
