The county’s shooting fraternity were out in force to attend an end of season dinner which raised more than £7,000 for the Young Shots programme, which is designed to teach youngsters between eight and 18 about country sports.

The dinner, at the Inn at Whitewell, was hosted by Duncan Thomas, north west regional officer for the British Association for Shooting and Conservation. It was attended by around 150 guests representing most of the top shoots in Lancashire. Mr Thomas said: ‘We are so grateful for the all the support and we are planning many more events.’
