Kidspace, Croydon: A huge, colourful space for children to explore with different zones for various ages, including a ‘thunderball’ city complete with cannons and foam ammunition, a climbing zone and toddler sensory village. Expensive, but worth it for a special day out.Jupiter Jo’s, Ewell: Slightly smaller, this soft play area is contained in one room, allowing children to play under the watchful gaze of their parents and carers. Themed around outer space, the venue sells delicious food and has friendly staff. Payment is by cash only, however, so come prepared.Leatherhead Leisure Centre, Leatherhead: Another really good one with plenty to do, including ride-on cars and giant football goalposts. Food on site is limited, so bring your own supplies. It can also get busy at weekends and during the holidays, so it’s worth calling ahead. Excellent parking though and easy to reach by public transport.Piglets, Hersham: Set in the Surrey countryside, this is another smaller soft play centre with the added attraction of a collection of farm animals for the kids to coo over. Nice food too, plus it’s an unusual and enjoyable party venue. Best suited to the very young: two’s to four’s.Toddler World at Rainbow Leisure Centre, Epsom: Located inside Epsom’s largest leisure facility, this child’s paradise of soft play for the under-fives opens for a few hours every weekday – check online for exact timings. A fantastic bouncy castle and great nursery rhyme sessions are definite highlights!
