An established Bicester business is expanding from its own premises to Cherwell Innovation Centre at Heyford Park following the success of its in-house development team who have created a unique health and safety IT portal.
A team of 25 people from Zeta Compliance Group’s technology division, ZetaSafe, has relocated from Zeta House, Bicester, as the company prepares for the launch of its latest product, Zeta Intelligence. The Group will continue to occupy Zeta House.
Rob Nicoll, CEO, Zeta Compliance Group, said: “We have been at the forefront of mobile and web based technology since becoming one of the first businesses to use the cloud and we are about to prove that our in-house development team is ahead of the game once again.” “It is due to this success that we have found ourselves travelling full circle to expand to the innovation centre, where we first started out several years ago. With the flexibility to grow, coupled with a competitive price and excellent service, I had no hesitation in moving the technology team to the Cherwell centre.”
To continue the success of Zeta Group’s technology division, Mr Nicoll is offering an attractive career path for local young people interested in becoming a developer, which could see a school leaver earning a senior developer title and a salary of over £30,000 within five years rather than still paying off university debts.
Mr Nicoll said: “There is a severe skills shortage in Oxfordshire, which needs to be addressed if businesses like ours are
going to continue to prosper. Many of today’s graduates who have studied a relevant IT degree are not equipped with work-ready coding skills. Therefore we’ve decided to tackle the issue head-on by offering a more practical career path via an apprenticeship scheme or our in-house training programme. We are keen to hear from local young people with an interest in becoming a developer.”
ZetaSafe is occupying a total of 1,060 sq. ft. at Cherwell Innovation Centre across three offices. The technology division is aiming to employ three additional staff by the end of this year as its products continue to provide an invaluable health and safety service to many sectors including oil & gas, food, pharmaceutical and medical. ZetaSafe is one of a number of innovative companies to have taken advantage of the structure at Cherwell Innovation Centre, which is an appealing proposition for businesses and employees.
