More than 300 guests attended a Venetian masquerade ball at the Imperial Hotel, Blackpool.

They were there to show their support for Blackpool Carers’ Centre which provides a range of services and support for carers from the ages of 5 to 105 and their families across Blackpool and the Fylde. Guests included the Mayor and Mayoress of Blackpool, Gary and Debbie Coleman, the High Sheriff of Lancashire, Anthony Attard, and Coronation Street star and Blackpool Carers’ Ambassador, Lucy Fallon. Kay Soper, support services manager, said: ‘Our wonderful supporters helped us raise £11,000. This year we have allocated the funding to provide respite for unpaid carers of all ages.

‘These valuable activities enable our carers to create friendships, make happy memories and cope with their selfless caring roles.’

‘Next year’s special Disco Ball will be on Saturday February 1 at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool. It will be our 10th anniversary Ball which also celebrates the 15th Birthday of Blackpool Carers.’
