BLAKE are searching for a local choir to join them ‘Live in Concert’. Following the huge success of their nationwide search for local choirs to join them as part of their ‘An Evening with Blake’ and ‘Love Lifts Us Up’ tour, BLAKE are looking for a local choir to perform on stage with them as part of their 2013 ‘Live In Concert’ show at The Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury on Saturday, September 14.

Choirs who would like the chance to join Blake on stage should send a YouTube video link of the choir performing to info@BlakeOfficial.com accompanied by a short description of the choir.

One choir will be chosen for each concert and the choir will join the group on stage to perform some of Blake’s well known classic-pop renditions, including ‘Hallelujah’, ‘Jerusalem’ and ‘Nessun Dorma’ – songs that helped catapult the group to global success after their formation using Facebook in 2007.

With a unique music style that bridges the gap between pop and opera Blake’s music is full of incredible vocal lines blended together through rich harmonies. Audiences can expect an evening of great music and entertainment from these singers whose stunning harmonies and rat-pack banter have been entertaining fans around the world. “Since getting together 6 years ago, we have performed well over 600 shows at venues all over the world, that’s a lot of time to get to know each other on stage! The fun we have as a group seems to spread very quickly into the audience, that’s what keeps every show special for us.”

The members of Blake all found their love of music at a young age and sang with various groups and choirs throughout their childhood. Their passion for music continues to grow and they wanted to share this with the communities they would be visiting on their tour. “We thought about how we could involve school choirs and local community choirs in our live shows, and that getting some of the choirs up on stage with us would be a great experience for both them and us” explains Ollie Baines.

Stephen Bowman says of the process, “We’ve always believed that choirs are totally essential to the future of British music, and we’re proud to be getting great choirs up on to some of the UK’s finest stages to show our audiences who the next wave of great performers might be.”

“It’s been inspirational to see so many choirs send in their material and a pleasure to perform with them all. We are looking forward to seeing more footage from choirs across the country and performing with them as part of the tour,” adds Humphrey Berney.
