Lancashire’s award-winning food and drink retailer, Booths, opened a 30,000 sq ft store in Burscough creating more than 60 new jobs.

Following a speech from company chairman Edwin Booth, director Simon Booth cracked open a 20kg Lancashire Cheese from Dewlay Dairies of Garstang to share with Burscough locals and employees.

World Champion dancers at Kelly Shirley Dance School and the Lordsgate School Choir provided entertainment.

Edwin Booth said: ‘Lancashire is our heartland and some of the country’s finest produce is grown in the region. Booths is a food retailer like no other — proudly Northern, family-run and independent.

We take pride in our close links to our farmers and producers as well as the communities in which we trade.’w
