Lancashire’s independent supermarket, Booths, has opened its latest store - a state-of-the-art 36,000 square foot development in St Annes.

Guests from across the Flyde were invited to the unveiling of this latest store, which is part of a £55 million regeneration scheme just off Heyhouses Lane. The new base, with a butchery, fishmonger, wine department, deli, cafe and grocery will employ around 90 people. Two small stores, at Marton and Ansdell, have closed. Another opening - the fourth this year - is scheduled next month at Poulton-le-Fylde.

Booths has founded its reputation on promoting locally-based food producers and Mr Booth said showcasing this aspect of the business would be a key part of the company’s activity during 2016.
