The inaugural Bournemouth Wheels Festival from Saturday 24 May to Monday 26 May is set to be the UK’s biggest free family wheels-themed event with over 100 events staged over three days. It’s a spectacular celebration of all things wheels-powered, from sleek supercars and vintage classics, to hulking monster trucks, BMX stunt shows and everything in between. Visitors should be prepared for three amazing days of high energy, adrenaline fuelled action across the town’s top locations, including the award-winning seafront, town centre, and Lower Gardens.

Festival goers will hear the visceral roar of vintage F1 race cars tearing along the demonstration straight, see car crushing monster truck shows on the beach, be able to browse exhibitions of high-powered supercars, custom trucks and motorbikes, as well as witness plenty of heart-in-the-mouth moments as the first ever motorcycle jump over Bournemouth’s historic Pier is attempted on Saturday and Sunday evenings! There is also a vintage and classic car pageant displaying up to 500 beautifully maintained cars and bikes.

In addition to all this throbbing horse power there will be live music from the seafront stage, a festival funfair, military displays, trading exhibitions and a spectacular firework finale.

Join the Wheels Nightglow Ride

The Wheels Night Ride cycling spectacular on Monday offers three pedal-power events in one fantastic evening which you can take part in. The whole family can get involved in the ‘Bears on Bikes’ charity bike ride, held in aid of the Round Table’s Children’s Wish. Thousands will be dressing their bikes with bears and cycling from Boscombe Pier at 6pm along the seafront and into the town centre on a closed circuit.

The action then steps up a gear as the town centre is transformed into a ‘Grand Prix style’ circuit race for elite cyclists as they go head-to-head. This exciting event then culminates in to a Nightglow ride where thousands of riders are asked to decorate their bike and themselves with as many brightly-lit, glow-in-the-dark accessories as possible and enjoy a leisurely cycle on the car-free roads through the town centre taking in the Lower Gardens, Gervis Place, Exeter Road and Bath Hill to finish at Pier Approach. Both adults and children on two-wheels can take part in this free Nightglow Ride.
