Property developer Devonshire Homes threw open the gates to its exclusive development of Bracken Hill, near Clifton, Bristol, for a Champagne garden party and afternoon tea. Local families were invited to inspect the development of six new-build family homes, which together form Overton Court.

Guests were treated to a series of cookery demonstrations within the high specification kitchen, while children discovered an array of unusual plants and wildlife in the garden treasure hunt. A more formal exploration of the garden was conducted by the head gardener Robert Webber, revealing the secret Bracken Hill rose that grows over 55 feet tall, and the unique Bristol Whitebeam tree that is native to the Avon Gorge.
