The Brailsford & District Ploughing and Hedgecutting Society gathered at Burton Albion.
Members of Brailsford & District Ploughing and Hedgecutting Society gathered at Burton Albion FC’s Pirelli Stadium for their annual dinner – a chance to celebrate last year’s successes and look forward to the new season before the hard work starts again!
Following an excellent roast dinner, the speaker for the evening was Lydia Slack, a farmer’s daughter from the Chapel-en-le-Frith area. She gave a humorous account of her life growing up on a farm and the first foray into farmhouse B&B by her parents.
Then it was time to socialise and dance the night away.
Members will gather in force again at the 114th Ploughing Match which takes place this year on Wednesday 2nd October at Sapperton Manor, Church Broughton, by kind permission of Colin and Robert Prince. There will be a warm welcome for all visitors.
