Brooklands Hotel makes the Sunday Times top 100 list

In their first year of entering, Brooklands Hotel in Weybridge has been named 93rd in the prestigious Sunday Times Top 100 Best Small Companies to Work 2014
The whole team at Brooklands Hotel were asked to complete surveys run by Best Companies and a total of 897 organisations took part. Assessed on engagement related to leadership, personal growth, managers, working in teams, giving something back, fair deal and wellbeing, the team feedback met the high standard needed to become a strong contender for such a prestigious award.
Brooklands Hotel, opened in 2010, has works very hard to create and deliver their ‘Make it happen’ brand and culture that ensures the team work well together and deliver exceptional experiences to our guest.
The ‘Stool Model’ instilled by General Manager, Marco Gervasoni, plays a large part in the success of Brooklands Hotel, with a purpose of creating an consensus understanding that our Team Players, Guests and Owners are of equal importance and the hotel would fall without all three working together to achieve success, continual growth and improvements.

‘Make it happen’ is an inspiring statement that captures the essence of Brooklands Hotel. It talks about a difference; the team that want to make guests happy and where possible, make their day. It talks passionately, and it talks of the experience guests will have during their visit. The results of the team survey, for Brooklands, shows the team have engaged and embraced the brand and culture, with 69% saying different departments work well together, 80% say Managers motivate people to give their best every day,
awarding points when they gain positive guest feedback. Ten nominations win a £20 voucher, and with 100, employees get two extra days of paid holiday (on top of the standard 28 days).
At the end of the year there’s an awards show to reward the top points scorer with a five-day break in Paris, and give front and back of house runners-up a two-night luxury UK break. The scheme helps ensure people are completely clear what is expected of them (82%), and deadlines are realistic, too (80%).
