More than £2,250 was raised for Harrogate Homeless Project at a businesswomen’s lunch organised by Lisa O’Reilly of TellOnlyYourBestFriends.co.uk.

Harrogate Homeless Project receives about 200 referrals every year for people seeking shelter through No Second Night Out, its resettlement scheme, and never turns anyone away. It also works with rough sleepers, providing support through the Springboard day centre as well as running a severe weather shelter on behalf of Harrogate Borough Council.

Harrogate Homeless Project chief executive Liz Hancock said: ‘We are delighted to be supported by this event; the project is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and we continue to rely on the support of the local community for the vital services we provide. Unfortunately, homelessness continues to be a reality in our district and we incredibly grateful for this contribution towards our work.’

The lunch was held at the West Park Hotel, Harrogate.
