Carden Park Hotel’s award-winning chefs created a retro style meal to celebrate the hotel’s 20th anniversary.

Forty VIP guests, including regular loyal customers and friends from the local community including Cheshire Life, were treated to the anniversary dinner in the private dining Redmond Room.

The occasion began on the hotel’s sunlit terrace over a glass or two of Carden Old Gold, an acclaimed sparkling wine from their own vineyard.

General Manager Paul Bayliss MBE welcomed guests and then allowed their award-winning chefs, Dion Jones and Graham Tinsley MBE (Executive Head Chef) to explain the nostalgic menu. The starter was a novel and delicious version of prawn cocktail - a deconstructed style of the classic, followed by a main course of roasted beef fillet, onion flavours, smoked mash and onion sauce. Dessert was equally impressive: a modern take on Black Forest gateaux featuring chocolate mousse, chocolate soil and cherry ice cream.

At breakfast next morning, all the hotel’s guests were treated to complimentary Bucks Fizz to mark the anniversary.
