Soap stars joined around 250 guests to raise £30,000 at a charity ball held by Pure Leisure Group.

Jennie McAlpine, Antony Cotton and Debbie Rush – otherwise known as Coronation Street’s Fiz, Shaun and Anna – made a star appearance at the glamorous gathering, which took place in the grounds of group owner John Morphet’s Milnthorpe home.

The American-themed ball was the 13th such event to be laid on by the leisure industry entrepreneur and his wife Donna, who together run a number of luxury lodge developments and holiday parks. Over the years, they have helped to raise more than £1 million for charity.

The money raised will be split between Moodswings, which was set up by Jennie McAlpine’s father, Tom, and Cash for Kids – a nationwide organisation that works with sick, under-privileged and disadvantaged children.
