A very special ladies’ lunch was held in Bowdon in memory of two children from Cheshire, Lucy Knighton, 18, and Issac Maley, aged nine.
Organised by their mums Emma Knighton and Vicky Maley, the event at Bowdon Rugby Club was attended by 250 guests who helped to raise £14,000 for Once Upon a Smile, a Manchester-based charity.
The lunch, which featured a set from The X Factor’s Jake Quickenden, was also attended by actor Daniel Jillings, who founded the charity with Emmerdale star, Danny Miller in 2011.
Emma Knighton said: ‘I want to thank everyone who came and made the afternoon such a great day, raising money for a wonderful charity. We hope to do it all again next year.’
