A sell-out ball organised by Foulridge mum-of-three Elaine Waine lit up the Fence Gate Inn to raise more than £7,600 which will be shared between Rosemere Cancer Foundation and Pendleside Hospice.

Elaine, who was treated at Rosemere Cancer Centre in 2008, arranged for dancing flames to be projected at the entrance to the function room to greet her 182 guests, who then sat at tables adorned with candelabras and lanterns to enjoy a four course dinner and be entertained by a fire show from Monster Cirque. There was also a casino, auction and raffle.

The event, Elaine’s fifth annual charity ball but her first involving Rosemere, was sponsored by her son Ryan’s company, Earby-based Bathrooms by Ryan Waine.
