A magnificent £23,000 was raised for charities abroad by Shaw Hill Golf & Spa Hotel in Chorley.

The event, now in its seventh year, comprised 80 golfers taking part in a challenging competition on the hotel’s 18 hole golf course. The winning team was presented with a crystal trophy by owner of Shaw Hill, Mrs Kathleen Tyrer. The finale to the event was a fundraising gourmet dinner and charity auction for 170 guests.

Since hosting the charity events, family run Shaw Hill has raised more than £165,000 for chosen charities. This year’s charities were CAFOD and Villa Maninga, which helps orphans in Mozambique.
