It was a big night for Cheshire’s designers and architects as many local businesses picked up accolades at the 12th annual Northern Design awards

Held at the iconic Devonshire Dome in Buxton, the Northern Design Awards celebrate all that is great about design in the north of England, recognising some of the region’s most innovative architects, designers and retailers.

Cheshire Life was proud to be among the sponsors of these prestigious awards for the third year. The judging panel included well-known faces and design professionals such as Red or Dead founder Wayne Hemingway MBE, who was the host for the evening, HRH Princess Katarina of Yugoslavia, George Bond and Linda Barker.

Following a drinks reception and entertainment from LED drummers Spark, guests enjoyed a four-course meal before the presentation of the awards.

Family-run Stockport brewery, Frederic Robinson, was presented with the Budget Commercial Interior Design Project award for The Foundry Vaults, one of their pubs in the Anglesey market town of Llangefni.

Glenn Doyle, who headed the brewery’s design team in the redesign and refurbishment, said: ‘It was great to see the efforts and vision of the Robinsons in-house design team being recognised amongst other top Northern design practices, hopefully this is the first of many to come.’
