International art lover, Lord David Cholmondeley, opened the doors of the iconic Cholmondeley Castle to support local charity, Chester Visual Arts.

The charity aims to bring a new focus to the visual arts provision in Chester and the surrounding region.

More than 100 prominent local artists and cultural leaders attended the glamorous champagne reception at the castle, which aimed to raise awareness of the charity's work at a crucial moment in its development.

Lord Cholmondeley welcomed the guests, took the time to highlight recent key successes and said the focus now was for the charity to find a permanent space in Chester to continue its work. u
