The Chipping Campden International Music Festival, which runs from May 8-21 is set for record breaking box office this year

The Chipping Campden International Music Festival is now widely acknowledged as one of the finest and most important music festivals in the UK, attracting visitors from as far afield as the USA, Canada, Russia, New Zealand and Australia, alongside its loyal following within the UK. General bookings opened on 1 February and the demand for tickets has been phenomenal, with some concerts selling out on day one.

As always the programme features some of the world’s greatest musicians, who love performing in this small Cotswold town. The concerts take place in the wonderful setting of St. James’ church, described by Alfred Brendel as “One of the finest acoustics I encountered in my 60 year career”

Artists appearing this year include

The Borodin Quartet, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Trevor Pinnock, Vox Luminus, Imogen Cooper, Lucy Parham Harriet Walter, Alex Jennings, Isabelle Faust, The Nash Ensemble, Alfred Brendel, Angelika Kirchschlager, & Julius Drake. Festival president Paul Lewis will be playing all 5 Beethoven piano concertos with the Festival Academy Orchestra. Chipping Campden is the only venue in world where Paul is performing the full cycle.
