Young artists aged 14 to16 years are invited to take part in the 2014 Laurie Lee Centenary Celebrations by using their drawing skills to turn his classic bestseller into a contemporary graphic novel.

On Tuesday, April 8, Graduate Illustrators Iselle and Emma from The University of Gloucestershire will be running an exciting one day workshop at the Museum in the Park.

Over the day students will learn about producing artwork in a graphic novel style and creating narratives with images. The work from the day will be finalised into a collaborated book that will be donated to the Museum.

“This is an exciting opportunity to bring Laurie Lee’s iconic book into the modern world and a new and different format,” says Ann Taylor, Museum Learning Officer’. “Students will also have the chance to exhibit their work at the Museum in June, to mark Laurie Lee’s 100th Birthday.’
