Following the record breaking success of Beauty And The Beast, The Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury are pleased to announce the chorus auditions on Sunday 27 September for their upcoming pantomime Cinderella. Once again this highly anticipated production will involve young people between the ages of 8-16, and the theatre is excited to experience the talents of the local community.
Those who enjoy acting, dancing, have a pleasant singing voice and feel confident performing on stage will be thrilled to hear that they have the chance to be involved in this professional show for the build-up to Christmas and through to the New Year. Participating in the pantomime includes performing in approximately 27 shows over five weeks on The Roses stage as well as meeting new people and gaining new experiences along the way.
The Roses are well-known for their enchanting winter pantomimes with over 16,000 people rushing to the theatre to catch a performance of last year’s Beauty And The Beast. This year’s will be even more spectacular as it will be the first since the art centre’s major redevelopment, so all cast members in Cinderella will be part of something really special.
Partaking in the pantomime allows the young community to be immersed in this tale crammed full with song, dance, and the usual hilarious pantomime tricks that will have all the family laughing throughout. The rehearsals and performances will involve working alongside a professional choreographer, writer, director and actors, which all makes the experience truly unforgettable. This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for all who love to perform live and can be a useful springboard into future opportunities.
The auditions are suitable for those aged between 8-16 years who have achieved at least a Grade 2 in modern dance and/or ballet. The Roses encourage all who meet these requirements to come along to the audition at The Watson Hall in Tewkesbury on Sunday 27 September by 10:30AM at the latest. Participants do not have to prepare anything but should wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothes and suitable footwear. Performances will be from Saturday 28 November 2015 to Saturday 2 January 2016, and it is required that all those chosen are available for rehearsals after school and at weekends from mid November, and for the entire duration of the show run.
