A glittering cocktail party was held by Claire House Children’s Hospice at Thornton Manor in Thornton Hough. The event celebrated the end of a busy year and guests included hospice patrons Paralympic cyclist Rik Waddon and actor Mark Moraghan. Young people who benefit from the services at Claire House also attended.

Stevie Corry, 23, from Runcorn, spoke on the night. She said: ‘I love spending time at Claire House as not only is it a break, it’s given me confidence in myself to try new things.’ Stevie suffers from cystinosis, a condition which means she has no kidneys.

Claire House Relationships Manager Clair Bedford, said: ‘Our donors keep the hospice open and we’re grateful for their support all year round.’
