The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity raised £170,000 at its annual Ball at Rum Warehouse, with a Best of Liverpool theme.

The charity is supporting the construction of a new cancer hospital in the heart of Liverpool - the city's first - which is scheduled to open this May. Everything raised on the evening went towards the charity's final push to raise the last £5m needed to make the hospital a first-class facility.

Guests were entertained by Alex Riley from BBC's One Show and a charity patron, Johnny Vegas and Peter Moore, chief executive of Liverpool FC, who auctioned some very special money-can't-buy experiences.

The auction also saw some fierce bidding for a unique artist's original copy maquette of the Beatles statue that stands at the Pier Head in Liverpool and an LFC Legends Dinner.
