Award-winning charity The Nelson Trust is this year celebrating 30 years of success. Passionate about recovery, the charity supports almost 1,000 individuals and their families each year to achieve transformational, lasting change.

Those experiencing the devastating impact of alcohol and drug addiction are supported through an intensive residential programme of treatment, family therapy, education training and resettlement. Through this, many rediscover hope, repair family ties and become contributing citizens. In addition, through a comprehensive range of community-based services spanning two counties, teams of dedicated professionals support women and families with multiple and complex needs to turn their lives around.

Always innovative, The Nelson Trust is now developing a dedicated treatment programme for current and former members of the British Armed Forces.

The charity’s most popular fundraising event is the Annual Clay Shoot & Dinner which takes place on May 15 at Berkeley Castle. Last year the event coincided with the BBC filming Wolf Hall. Many of the shoot guests were mistakenly sent to the middle of the film set for the shoot, adding to the unique experience. The shoot is the first to take place in this ancient deer park for over 100 years.

Sarah Frost, of The Nelson Trust, says “We are very grateful to our supporters and sponsors who help to make the shoot such a success. One of our main goals is to fill the void of addiction and equip clients for life beyond treatment. Support from grant-giving charities, companies and individuals makes it possible to fund new ideas to help meet our goals. This is why the Nelson Trust has continuous high success rates.”

Lindsay Cuthill, Head of Savills’ London Country Department, comments “Covering the Cotswolds from our local network (alongside our London team), we are very much part of the community and working with The Nelson Trust to support their invaluable programmes is a very exciting prospect for us. We celebrate their 30 years and look forward to our continuing involvement.”

Andrew Hulcoop, Cotswold Motor Group Managing Director, says “We are delighted to be supporting The Nelson Trust with this event and very much look forward to taking part.”
