On the evening of February 18th, the glitz and glamour returned to The Eden Project, as the red carpet was once again rolled out for Cornish and Devonshire Cottage Holidays’ annual COCOAS (Celebration of Cottage Owner Achievements) Awards.
A black-tie event for holiday cottage owners across Cornwall and Devon, The COCOAS celebrate the hard work and efforts of those owners who go the extra mile and show an extraordinary consideration for the happiness, comfort and enjoyment of their guests. The nominees and winners of each category were voted for by Cornish and Devonshire Cottage Holidays’ customers.
Canapes and award-winning ‘Cornwall Brut’ and ‘Pinot Noir Rose’ from Camel Valley greeted guests on arrival, and continued to flow through a magnificent three-course dinner, featuring produce from the South West. The meal was accompanied by the superb Saffron String Quartet, whilst outside the amazing biodomes of the Eden Project were illuminated against the setting sun and provided a wondrous backdrop for the evening.
After dinner, the highly entertaining broadcaster, writer and former MP and Government Whip, Gyles Brandreth got the proceedings off to a great start. With perfectly timed wit and entertaining anecdotal stories of his encounters across his career, he engaged the whole room in hilarity and was a joy to watch.
The awards ceremony was sponsored by some of the best brands in the South West, with prizes for the winners including: a day trip for two to the beautiful Isles of Scilly with lunch, a two-week hot tub hire plus Champagne, a £500 voucher for Audi Retail Concept, two VIP tickets to see Bryan Adams perform at the Eden Project, a BOSE Sound Touch Speaker, a case of Camel Valley, a deluxe cocktail hamper from Aval Dor Vodka, and a selection of soft furnishings from the Cream Cornwall range.
