Members and friends of Congleton Golf Club gathered at the club for its annual summer ball. Guests enjoyed a three-course buffet at the black tie event before raising £350 for the NSPCC through donations. The following day, the club donated the marquee to the NSPCC so the charity could hold a lazy Sunday afternoon tea event complete with jazz band – which helped to raise a total of £1,500.

Trevor Stone, club captain at Congleton Golf Club said: ‘It was an opportunity to help a worthy charity. The summer ball was a very successful event and everyone enjoyed themselves. We were also fortunate with the weather! Credit is due to the committee of the ball for organising a great event.’
