The cream of Gloucestershire’s wordsmiths gathered at The Lower Slaughter Manor for champagne and canapés, before heading across the road to The Slaughters Country Inn for the Cotswold Life Authors’ Lunch.
Short speeches by The Lower Slaughter Manor & The Slaughters Country Inn general manager Stuart Hodges and Cotswold Life editor Mike Lowe were followed by a reading by poet Peter Wyton. The guests enjoyed a three-course lunch of curried parsnip soup, parsnip crisps and coriander oil, followed by braised blade of beef, horseradish mash, roast Heritage carrot & red wine sauce, and sticky toffee pudding, toffee sauce and crème fraiche for dessert.
