Eight friends blessed with a total of 22 healthy children decided to help when they discovered Daisy Walsh, the daughter of a teacher at the Big Picture Nursery, had a rare blood disorder called Diamond Blackfan Anaemia.

Daisy looks like any other happy, healthy toddler yet she has faced so many huge hurdles. As a way of showing their support, the mums organised the Daisy Chain Ball at the Southport Ramada in aid of Daisy and the invaluable service she receives from Alder Hey Hospital. Sadly, one of the organisers also lost her mother to cancer in October so they decided to also make a donation to the Clatterbridge cancer centre. In all, an evening of fun and glamour raised in excess of £8,000
