Thousands of runners took part in this year’s RAMathon Half Marathon at Elvaston Castle

Making a welcome return after 18 years, the event raised huge amounts of money for charities that included the Alzheimer’s Society, Derby Mountain Rescue Team and the official Mini Ramathon charity, Rainbows Hospice. In addition to a 10-strong voluntary organising committee, 36 leaders and many volunteers turned out in force to ensure that the day was a success. Luke Gunn was the overrall winner and Lisa Palmer was the female winner. The next RAMathon date has been announced as Sunday 7th June 2015.
