A day of celebration for the Kidd family

Parents Jonny and Katie Kidd welcomed more than 520 guests to The Mere Golf Resort and Spa in Knutsford to raise money for cancer support and prevention charities after their son, Dexter, finished 42 months of successful treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

It has been a gruelling few years for the family after Dexter was diagnosed with the condition in 2015, aged just four. But with brighter times ahead Dexter's Ball was a night of celebration and giving back. Rising soul singer Afrika Fuentes lent her vocal talents to the evening while ITV presenter Lucy Meacock took care of hosting duties. Hits Radio DJ Mike Toolan kept guests gripped during a live auction. Overall the evening raised more than £75,000 which will be split equally between The Joshua Tree, Milly's Smiles and Bloodwise.
