Cheselbourne-based photographer Lucy Sewill, whose work hangs in the National Portrait Gallery, exhibited some of her favourite portraits at a Dine Amongst the Stars private view and dinner.
The event was hosted by Katherine Butler at Waterston Manor near Dorchester and featured a selection of Lucy’s portraits, from the Prime Minster and Dame Edna to some of Dorset’s famous faces, many of which have featured in Dorset Magazine, including former BBC Chief News Correspondent Kate Adie and Poole oyster fisherman, Pete Miles.
The event was attended by a glittering array of guests, many of whom had been captured by Lucy’s lens, and BBC presenter Jeremy Vine gave a speech about some of her more unusual commissions. The dinner also marked the launch of Lucy’s latest photographic project - 100 Years of British Music. The book has been commissioned by PRS for Music (formerly the Performing Rights Society) to celebrate their centenary and will feature portraits of some of this country’s greatest musicians and composers including Tony Hatch and David Arnold.
The book is due to be published next summer.
