Duerr’s held their annual charity ball at the Imperial War Museum North, Trafford, to raise money for the Medical Detection Dogs charity. Britain’s oldest family-run jam and marmalade makers raised £35,000 for the charity at the 1970’s and 1980’s themed ‘Love Boat’ ball. Guests enjoyed a five course banquet with entertainment from swing artist Paul Pashley. A charity auction included prizes such as tickets to the X Factor final and the services of managing director, Mark Duerr, and sales and marketing director, Richard Duerr, for a day of wining and dining.
Money raised will acquire and train at least three new dogs for the charity, enabling more animals to be trained to detect the odour of human disease. Mark Duerr said: ‘This year’s charity ball was record breaking and our thanks go to everyone who attended and made it an evening of fun, while helping to raise money for such a deserving cause.’
